Stainless steel micromachining
Highly precise, extremely small features across all types and thicknesses of stainless steel.
What makes a steel stainless
Stainless steels are iron-based alloys containing at least 10.5% chromium. A thin, dense chromium oxide film forms on the surface, providing corrosion resistance and preventing further oxidation.
There are five types of stainless steel, which differ with their other alloying additions and range from fully austenitic to fully ferritic.
Stainless steel applications
- Laser microcutting of stainless steel
- Laser hole drilling in stainless steel
- Welding of stainless steel components
- Stainless steel CNC machining
