Cost of Micromachining

Cost of Micromachining

Our goal is to inspire and enable innovation and new technology by providing services with accessibility and pricing that will revolutionize manufacturing on a global scale.

Precision Apertures for less than $50.

In these economic challenging times, Potomac Photonics stands ready to provide you with the most cost-effective micromachining services in the industry. Our pricing structure is extremely flexible and there is no minimum charge. Prototyping typically involves a nominal set-up /programming charge and the time required to fabricate the part. Even before a project shifts to production, our Engineering Team works closely with your Design and Procurement personnel to understand your future cost targets in order to ensure that a manufacturing process that can meet these goals is developed. In addition, we are continually evaluating and working to optimize all of our projects to find ways to cut costs and improve quality.

Important factors to consider related to micromachining and cost include:

  • Substrate material
  • Thickness of material
  • Number of features / cut length
  • Form factor of part (flat or 3D)

Potomac has the capability to machine most materials and will be happy to discuss the cost advantages of selecting one type over another. In some cases the cut rate and cost can be reduced for several factors simply by changing to a different material or thickness.

If you are developing or working on a part that requires precise features, please contact us today to find our why Potomac is the most cost competitive manufacturer of small parts.
