Potomac Photonics 欣然宣布为其合同激光微加工单元购买了一台新的 Coherent 准分子激光器。该激光器适用于快速成型和生产微型部件，将集成到能够加工平面和三维部件的系统上。
准分子激光器发射光谱中紫外线 (UV) 区域的集中光，特别适合加工聚合物和玻璃材料中的复杂特征。微孔钻孔、精密切割和蚀刻是这种激光器的众多应用之一。凭借实现小至 2 微米的特征的能力，医疗、生物技术和电子等各个行业的客户将能够通过电子邮件将他们的图纸发送给 Potomac，并快速且经济高效地制造他们的零件。
利用准分子激光进行加工通常被称为冷加工，因为热影响区非常局部，表面几乎没有明显的热损伤。这一特性对于希望尽量减少碎片并限制昂贵而耗时的二次清洁过程的客户来说非常重要。
